8" Vintage Plastic Doll Scottish Plaid Tartan National 50s 60s
Hard Plastic doll with only jointed arms, not the legs. In good condition EXCEPT there are problems with the felt jacket. Half of one arm is gone and there are two holes on the other side, under the arm. The eyes don't move and I don't think they are supposed to.
Let me tell you how I came into this collection of dolls. The previous owner acquired these as a child in the 50s and 60s. Her family lived in South America (not sure where) and entertained many single coworkers for holidays while on assignment. These nationals were so endeared to the family that they began sending dolls to their daughter from all over the world as they were assigned to various countries. The mom took meticulous notes about who sent the gifts and what country the dolls came from, however, I do not have the key. Many are marked with a number as a result. I have nearly 100 dolls that came to me in a trunk. I have really enjoyed examining the workmanship and creativity that have gone on it making these dolls but it is time for them to find a new home. They really are not "played with", but they have been stored in a wooden trunk for decades, so please understand that their condition is as found, and any fabrics may or may not have been affected by living in an acidic condition.
